PAINTER

Contemporary symbolist approach

TIME WILL TELL

The passage of time, how strange it is!

Ongoing fluid with unstoppable flow, master of what changes and transforms itself; it is the ephemeral constant of instability of everything that should be.

Planetary rhythm, solstices, equinoxes, pregnancy of beings and works of art, and many things look like they are “regulated”. Seconds, minutes, days, months, years, centuries, millenniums… follow a biorhythm that will be designated with all simplicity by the name of “evolution”.

All of these fractions reflect arithmetic found in infinity, a universe of proportion and geometry notified on all scale of the visible world. Even our breath and our heart are forever thankful. Though, the world and time have architecture that is as perfect that is as impossible to grasp. Abstracted symmetrical and contrasted design, the labyrinth of conflicted corridors of time, apparently, is not willing to help us so easily. The meaning of life has never been so impossible to reach.

So, how can we paint time? What changes constantly cannot be frozen? That way, are we more talking about traces of an allusive painting, metaphoric, following more over as a paradox, as a journey through what we would imagine sometimes as “out of the continuum”. Height, width, depth, landscape, characters and symbols, part of the canvas, juggle with alienated pretense of being able to represent something primary: presence, this one absolute that inhabits beings and non living things, and that keeps on perpetuating life. Time will tell will therefore include about ten or so art pieces starting from second to second, minutes to minutes… stopping by the eighth day, on the footsteps of time, by the traveling on unknown seas looking for time solving, and the curvature of the surface.

The series will be followed with the preceding one, The secret doors, like if the space of one of these doors could convey us more suitably to an other pictorial travel. And painting, eternal beginning, like life is, allows us as well to: reverse the hourglass, like if it was an eternal blessing. That way, each time we try, even unskillfully, to circumscribe our own existence, believing that we actually do more than just killing time.
